FR : Gabriel Azorín (Hellín, 1981) a présenté son premier long métrage Last Night I Conquered the City of Thebes aux Journées des Auteurs de la Mostra de Venise 2025, où il gagne deux Bisato d’Oro pour son scénario et sa photographie. Le film a également reçu le Grand Prix Janine Bazin au Festival Entrevues de Belfort et le prix spécial du jury au Seminci (Espagne). Il a également réalisé les courts métrages Greyhounds, Tomorrow, the Bullet et The Noise of the Universe ainsi que le moyen métrage documentaire The Mutants. Il fait partie du collectif lacasinegra. Ses œuvres ont été projetées dans des festivals tels que Venise, New York, San Sebastian, Belfort, Festival dei Popoli, Séville ou Ficunam. Il est également conseiller artistique ou producteur pour des films tels que Azor d’Andreas Fontana (Berlinale), La sangre es blanca d’Óscar Vincentelli (FID Marseille), ou encore H de Carlos Pardo Ros (Visions du Réel).
EN : Gabriel Azorín (Hellín, 1981) premiered his first feature film Last Night I Conquered the City of Thebes at the 2025 Venice Film Festival’s Giornate degli Autori where it received two Bisato d’Oro awards for its screenplay and cinematography given by the independent critics. The film has also received the Grand Prix Janine Bazin at Entrevues Belfort (France) and the Special Jury Prize at Seminci (Spain). He has also directed the short films Greyhounds, Tomorrow, the Bullet and The Noise of the Universe and the medium-length documentary The Mutants. He is a member of the film collective lacasinegra. His work has been screened at festivals such as Venice, New York, San Sebastián, Entrevues de Belfort, Festival dei Popoli, Seville or Ficunam. He is also artistic advisor or producer in films like Azor by Andreas Fontana (Berlinale), La sangre es blanca by Óscar Vincentelli (FID Marseille) or H by Carlos Pardo Ros (Visions du Réel).
