FR : Née en 1971, Lázara Rosell Albear est une artiste belgo-cubaine diplômée de l’Académie royale des beaux-arts de Gand et cofondatrice, avec Simschka Stein, de l’organisation MahaWorks. Sa pratique combine une multiplicité de médias, notamment la recherche sonore, la performance, le cinéma, le dessin et l’installation. « Quelle est notre place dans un monde auquel nous avons fini par prendre part ? » se demande-t-elle dans un contexte où les progrès technologiques transforment constamment les langages traditionnels de la danse, de la musique et du théâtre. Transgression, présence, résonance, vibrations, nouveaux mondes, poésie : tels sont les mots clés de sa pratique unificatrice. Ses œuvres font partie de collections telles que celles du centre argos pour les arts audiovisuels, du Frans Masereel Centrum, du VGC -Mu.ZEE et du Kanal-Centre Pompidou.
